St Mary's is in vacancy as Fr Grant Holmes retired on 25 October 2020. The process of finding a new Vicar has started but it will take time. We are very grateful to members of the clergy who have offered to help with services during the vacancy. Sadly, the current lockdown means no more public worship for the time being.
We are delighted that this Sunday the Revd Canon Ruth Goatly is with us to preside. Paul Wiggins, our Reader, will preach.
Today, is the second of a series of five sermons about Advent - Christ the King and Introduction to Advent (22 November) ) plus the theme for each week of Advent as it comes - Patriarchs (Paul Wiggins), Prophets (Fr Richard Watson), John the Baptist (Ruth Goatly) and Mary (Bishop Michael). See the Advent Sermons page for videos of the sermons.
CHURCHES TOGETHER IN MARSHALSWICK (CTM) - ADVENT CAROL SERVICE 6.00pm
Sadly, lockdown means that people from the six member churches of CTM cannot physically meet up for this annual service hosted by St Saviour's. Instead it will be online from 6.00 pm on Advent Sunday. Thank you to St Saviour's for putting the service together, to CTM churches whose members did readings and to St Saviour's Virtual Choir for their hard work!
APPEAL FOR HELP - St Mary's Church, along with many churches, charities, businesses and people, is struggling financially in this COVID-19 period. We still have nearly all our outgoings but have lost some of our sources of income; for example, we cannot hire out our hall or use it for our own fundraising events. We realise that this is a tough time for many, but if you could make a donation, it would be very much appreciated. Just click here to go to our giving page.
