St Mary's is an Open Church - Open to God, Open to You
There will still be a regular pattern.
The Parish Communion will be held twice at 9.00 am and 10.30am with the 9.00am Service being uploaded (unedited) and should be available at 10.30am or soon after.
Normally in a vacancy the wardens need to find cover for each week’s services. St Mary’s is in a very fortunate position as Ruth Goatly, who has just retired, has very generously offered to cover the second and fourth Sundays each month plus the fifth Sunday, if there is one. In addition she will help with services for All Souls/Remembrance and Christmas and with any funerals or baptisms. Another generous offer comes from our neighbouring parish, St Saviour’s, who have offered to cover every first Sunday of the month. The third Sunday of the month will usually be a “guest” Sunday but St Saviour’s say they will help out if we cannot find anyone.
Worship in the Hall (children) - Timing varies at the moment. When we are in church, they tend to meet in the Quiet Room during one of the Parish Communion Services otherwise they hold the meeting over ZOOM.

St Mary’s and St Saviour’s We hope that our two parishes can work together to complement one another and make better use of resources, not just during the vacancy but in the future to better serve our communities. We could have joint retreats, breaks, studies, seasonal leaflets etc as partners. Both PCCs are aware of this and both have agreed it makes sense for both parishes to work more closely together. Each church will retain its own separate status as a parish and its own identity and traditions including its style of worship. The agreement was included in the parish profile.
