Easing of Covid Restrictions at St Mary's
From Sunday 25 July, St Mary's is going to be gradually easing restrictions (when safe to do so!). The PCC has also decided to revert to the pre-lockdown pattern so that the times of the Sunday services are now:
8.00am    Holy Communion (said)
9.30am    Parish Communion (sung)
ALL WELCOME.  NO NEED TO BOOK
From now on, we will not be recording our Sunday Service. If you want to watch a service online, check out our THIS SUNDAY page which has our details for the day plus links to the national Church of England Service and to the streamed service from St Albans Cathedral.

We are asking everyone to please continue to wear masks inside the church building.  We will still respect social distancing but may have up to three people in a pew (more if all in same bubble). There will be seating in the small and large hall in order to accommodate as many as possible and still have space between people.  At the moment coffee will not be served after the 9.30am service but we hope to start this again in September. For more details about the changes from Sunday 25 July - see leaflet Easing of Covid Restrictions at St Mary's

Appointment of New Vicar

St Mary's has been in vacancy (without a vicar) since the end of October 2020 but on Sunday 27 June 2021 it was announced that the Revd Kate Pearson, Anglican Chaplain at the University of Warwick and Assistant Area Dean for Coventry South Deanery, has been appointed Vicar of St Mary Marshalswick, St Albans with the Licensing to be held in early September. Please remember Kate, her husband Richard and daughter Zoe, in your prayers as they prepare for their move.

For more information about Kate and family, see the Introducing Kate Pearson flyer
For more information about the Service now set for 6 September, see the Induction Service flyer

APPEAL FOR HELP - St Mary's Church, along with many churches, charities, businesses and people, is struggling financially in this COVID-19 period. We still have nearly all our outgoings but have lost some of our sources of income; for example, we cannot hire out our hall or use it for our own fundraising events. We realise that this is a tough time for many, but if you could make a donation, it would be very much appreciated.   Just go to our giving page.
